NEWS / Following today's preliminary hearing held by the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, chaired by Justice Goddard, the Church of England has issued the following statement.

NEWS / The Rt Revd Paul Butler, Bishop of Durham today announced the appointment of a new full-time National Safeguarding Adviser for the Church of England.

Meg Munn, former MP and Government Minister, with a professional background in child and adult safeguarding issues, has been appointed as the first independent chair of the Church of England’s National Safeguarding Panel, (NSP).

The Bishop of Durham, Paul Butler and the Bishop at Lambeth (previously Bishop of Truro), Tim Thornton, met a survivor Gilo recently for a mediated meeting. 

Steve Reeves has been appointed as the third member of the Church of England’s Independent Safeguarding Board, ISB.
