Churchyards display a variety of historic structures, many listed in their own right. The good management of a churchyard needs to take into account a range of issues, from the burial rights of parishioners to the wildlife management of the churchyard. 

Our teams deal with changes to parishes, certain property matters, the legal process of closing a church building which is no longer needed and finding those buildings new uses. 

The Mission, Pastoral and Church Property Committee carries out certain functions of the Church Commissioners. 

The General Synod consists of the House of Bishops, the House of Clergy and the House of Laity.

The Hyde Park Estate is owned by the Church Commissioners for England and is the secret corner of London’s West End, located within a stone’s throw of the glorious tranquillity of Hyde Park.

Following the establishment of the National Safeguarding Team in 2015 - replacing a 0.5 national post - the Archbishops' Council has recently reviewed its structure and after consultation will be advertising for a Director of Safeguarding.
