Following the passing of a resolution at the Diocesan Synod in Hereford, a spokesperson for the Church of England said: "We are aware of the resolution passed by Hereford Diocesan Synod calling for the General Synod to debate a motion on services of prayer and dedication for same-sex couples.

New legislation governing Diocesan Boards of Education (DBEs), which oversee and support Church of England schools, has received final approval from General Synod.

The General Synod has backed a call for ‘crucial’ resources to remain available for racial justice as members heard that more work needs to be done for the full inclusion of Global Majority Heritage (GMH) people in the Church of England.

General Synod voted unanimously today to endorse the Church’s response to the five recommendations from IICSA and urged its national safeguarding steering group to work towards a more fully survivor-centred approach to safeguarding, including arrangements for redress for survivors.
