General Synod has voted to approve new safeguarding codes of practice on; Managing and Reporting Safeguarding Concerns and Allegation and on Religious Communities (deemed approved). 

At its April meeting General Synod unanimously approved the draft Safeguarding (Code of Practice) Measure which strengthens and clarifies the obligation to follow safeguarding guidance.

The Church Commissioners for England in 2020 worked to address the climate change and social challenges exacerbated by Covid-19. 

Following successful applications to the Financial Reporting Council, the Church Commissioners for England, the Church of England Pensions Board and CCLA, investment manager for the Church of England CBF Funds, are now signatories of the UK Stewardship Code, having met the FRC’s expected standard of reporting in 2021.
