New safeguarding practice review policy approved by General Synod

The National Safeguarding Team has commissioned the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) to help improve how the Church treats people who have been abused or are at risk of harm.

Two new members appointed to the National Safeguarding Panel (NSP)

Lesley-Anne Ryder, an experienced CEO and chair who has worked in national and local government and the health and charity sectors, has been appointed the independent co-chair of the Response Group looking at two important reports on independence and safeguarding in the Church of England.

New working group will bring together theologians, Church leaders and safeguarding professionals.
