A prayer podcast has attracted more than a million downloads in just six months

A free service bringing the ancient monastic cycle of daily prayer to millions of modern listeners has broadcast its 1,000th episode. 

Prayer services dating back to the early days of Christianity have enjoyed a big revival at a Middlesex church during the pandemic.

Tens of thousands of people have rediscovered the ancient monastic cycle of daily prayer during the pandemic, with one new Church of England worship podcast accessed more than half a million times in just over three months.

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York are inviting the nation to join them in prayer every evening at 6pm - from today.

Christians across the UK and Ireland will be joining in prayer for Ukraine on Sunday April 3.

Following a recent announcement that places of worship could reopen for individual private prayer from June 15, the Government has now revised the date in guidance just published to June 13.
