Here you will find information about the Church of England’s redress scheme. The purpose of the redress scheme is to help victims and survivors of Church-related abuse move towards rebuilding their lives.

On Tuesday 9th July General Synod debated the revised Abuse (Redress) Measure that will, once it comes into effect, make legal provision for the creation of the Redress Scheme for victims and survivors of Church-related abuse. 

In November 2023, General Synod members gave first consideration and overwhelming support to the draft Abuse Redress Measure. In this Redress Blog, the lead bishop for safeguarding, argues that redress is about more than money, and that the Church should continue to take responsibility for preventing, addressing, and repenting of the harm that can be done in its communities.
