Church of England bishops have joined with counterparts from around the Anglican Communion in signing a statement warning of 'Environmental Racism.'

Adam Matthews, Director of Ethics and Engagement for the Church of England Pensions Board has today been named ‘Personality of the Year’. 

Changes have been announced making it easier for parishes to apply for funding to support fabric repairs.

The Church Commissioners for England today reiterated support for the climate-related shareholder resolution, filed against the board of ExxonMobil, and calls on Exxon not to block the resolution going to a vote in 2020.

The Bishop of Huddersfield, Jonathan Gibbs was announced as the Church of England’s new lead safeguarding bishop in February 2020, taking over from Bishop Peter Hancock, the Bishop of Bath and Wells. In March 2022 it was announced that Bishop Jonathan was to be the next Bishop of Rochester but as planned would continue as the lead safeguarding bishop until the end of March 2023.

The Church of England is marking five years since the passing of the Paris Accord at COP21 by encouraging Christians to pray for firm progress to be made on environmental pledges.

A pioneering project which could offer people living in hostels the chance to build their own home and a church scheme that helps vulnerably housed women are to pitch for funding to expand in a ‘Dragons’ Den’ style competition to help ease the housing crisis.
