Remembrance Day services

Poppies, Tree, Barbed Wire Resized

Thousands of people will be visiting churches to take part in Remembrance Day services which this year have a particular significance as we commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. Many people have visited battlefields, cemeteries and memorials to learn more about the conflict and to pay their respects.


This recording was done with a group from the Friends of Guildford Cathedral who travelled to the Ypres Salient in Belgium to visit World War one sites. The report opens with the historian Philip Pratley and features members of the group with their reflections and thoughts on what they had seen and heard.
