The purpose of fm is to signpost articles, resources, events and research that stimulate reflection on the breadth of learning the church engages in; within worshiping communities, pioneering & mission contexts and the public square. This includes the continuing ministerial education and formation work in dioceses, courses and colleges. fm is compiled by staff in the Archbishops’ Council’s Ministry and Evangelism & Discipleship teams, but relies on community members to send us the appropriate news and views.
To sign up to fm use the form below. Please let others know about #fm_learning and send ideas, articles, research, event news and job opportunities for us to post on.
To keep the email as brief as possible we will archive the list of upcoming conferences and gatherings here, along with any significant articles or news. You can browse the fm archive below...
23rd - 25th July 2018, lunchtime to lunchtime.
High Leigh Conference Centre, Lord Street, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire EN11 8SG
How does the theological education and training that we provide relate to the diversity of Christian discipleship in the world – to the wide range of vocations and forms of ministry, service and witness to which Christians are called in their homes, workplaces, communities and the public sphere? How well do we train ministers who will enable and resource the full breadth of Christian discipleship? Will it take a culture change for our churches to take this variety with full seriousness – and, if so, what role might theological education play in that? In what ways can we as theological educators better serve a church fully engaged in the world? The 2018 Joint Conference is a joint meeting of the Common Awards Staff Conference, the Theological Educators’ Network (formerly CAEIMT) conference, and the Ministry Development network.

Discipleship is for all ages and stages. Its sometimes about how those already active in faith grow through encouraging and supporting others who are just starting to discover all that faith can mean in their lives. This 24 hour conference is for all who are interested in exploring practical ideas and research insights that help the families we meet through baptism to discover all that it means to be on an amazing life-long journey of faith. It will include case studies from parish experience, ideas about the relationship with schools and toddler groups, and creative ways to encourage prayer.
