The draft Scheme provides for the proposed:
(i) union of the benefice of Saint Thomas, Brampton and the benefice of Saint Mark, Brampton and their constituent parishes
(ii) the church of Saint Thomas, Brampton to be the parish church of the new parish
(iii) the church of Saint Mark, Brampton to be a chapel of ease
(iv) the appointment of the first incumbent of the new benefice
(v) the transfer to the DBF for ‘diocesan purposes’ the parsonage houses of the benefices of Saint Thomas, Brampton, and Saint Mark, Brampton; and
(vi) the future patronage arrangements for the new benefice all within the diocese of Derby.

This consultation has now closed. As objections were received against the draft Scheme, the case will be considered by the Mission, Pastoral & Church Property Committee on Wednesday 13th December 2023. The Committee paperwork can be found on this page.
The Committee decided that the draft Scheme should be allowed to proceed notwithstanding the representations made against it, and a full statement of reasons for that decision will be sent to all who made representations and all interested parties in due course.
All correspondence received by the Commissioners will be treated as public correspondence.
