Church Commissioners appoints Olga Hancock as Head of Responsible Investment

The Church Commissioners for England has appointed Olga Hancock as its new Head of Responsible Investment.

“We are delighted to appoint Olga to lead our Responsible Investment team, ensuring our assets are managed responsibly,” said Tom Joy, Chief Investment Officer, Church Commissioners for England. “The Church Commissioners has long championed responsible and ethical investment, challenging the companies in which we invest to maintain good governance, and look after people and the planet.”

Olga joined the Church Commissioners in 2019 as Senior Engagement Analyst and became Deputy Head of Responsible Investment in 2021. She chairs the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association Policy Committee, is co-chair and co-founder of the Investor Policy Dialogue on Deforestation Indonesia, sits on the steering committee of the Finance Sector Deforestation Action (FSDA) and was recently elected lead of the Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance Policy Workstream.

Olga is a qualified solicitor in New South Wales, Australia, as well as in England and Wales, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability.
