The Bishop of Southampton Dr Jonathan Frost is to be the next Dean of York, Downing Street has announced.
Dr Frost, who will be installed in February, will be the 76th Dean - in a line dating back to 1093.
It follows the recent installation of the former Dean, Vivienne Faull, as Bishop of Bristol.
