Statements regarding BBC File on Four Blackburn Cathedral case
 

Church of England response to BBC File on Four Programme relating to the David Tudor, a priest who was prohibited from ministry for life in October. 

The independent report into the Church's handling of its 2007-9 Past Cases Review, PCR, has been published today.

The Church of England's National Safeguarding Team has today published a progress report, one year on from the Elliott Review.

The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, IICSA, has today published its report into the Anglican Church.

Summary of September meeting 

It was announced that the Bishop of Truro, Philip Mountstephen, is joining the NSSG and will take on the role as Chair of the Redress Scheme Project Board. It was noted that the extensive programme of work in safeguarding will need additional new episcopal members. The Terms of Reference of the group also need to be reviewed to ensure that they are fit for purpose in the context of the implementation of the Independent Safeguarding Board.

Publication of the interim report from the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, IICSA.

The Church of England has today published its detailed responses to the recommendations of the IICSA report from October.

Synod today voted unanimously to fully accept the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse’s (IICSA) final investigation report into the Anglican Church.
