Stepping Stones for Growth launched

06/01/2021

It was a big hit in November, when 600 people did the course in Manchester. The course had enthusiastic feedback from all traditions – including traditional Catholics and Inclusive Church members, as well as all varieties of evangelical.

Stepping Stones is now available from the Diocese of Manchester website. It is free of charge, with no sign-up required.

Stepping Stones for Growth comprises six lively videos, each between eight and 16 minutes, and a user handbook. The videos are available in two playlists: hi-res and lo-res (for Zoom/online use). There is also a short user guide. It is suitable for use by individuals, church groups, dioceses, and in online events and services.

In November, all 300 clergy in Manchester did the course on Zoom - alongside 300 readers, Authorised Lay Ministers, youth workers and others from local churches and chaplaincies.

Mike Starkey, Head of Church Growth at the Diocese of Manchester, developed the course and is one of the three main presenters, together with Eve Powers (Digital Comms for Manchester), and Andre Adefope (ordinand). The course also includes around 20 one-minute interviews from around Greater Manchester with examples of creative good practice.
