The Church Commissioners for England welcomes today’s Crown appointment of Marsha de Cordova MP as Second Church Estates Commissioner, succeeding Andrew Selous.

Dr Eve Poole, the Third Church Estates Commissioner, stepped down today from her role with the Church Commissioners for England to return to teaching and writing, having successfully led the introduction of the new Cathedrals Measure during her three-year term.

Loretta Minghella, the Chief Executive of Christian Aid, is to be the next First Church Estates Commissioner, Downing Street announced today.

Alan Smith, Senior Advisor - ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Risk and Inclusion, and former Global Head of Risk Strategy at HSBC, is to be the next First Church Estates Commissioner.

After three years of outstanding service to the Church Commissioners and the wider Church of England. Loretta Minghella OBE has indicated her intention to step down from the post of First Church Estates Commissioner next summer.

Sir Robert Buckland has been appointed the new Third Church Estates Commissioner, succeeding the Rt Revd Dr Flora Winfield, who was recently appointed Bishop of Selby.

Canon Winfield was ordained deacon in 1989 and priest in 1994. She has worked in parish and cathedral ministry, university and military chaplaincy, ecumenical and Anglican Communion relations, and humanitarian diplomacy, representing the Anglican Communion at the United Nations. 

The Church Commissioners for England has won two awards at the IPE Global Real Estate Awards ceremony in Copenhagen.
