Sustainable schools

We have 4,700 schools educating around 1 million children. Our vision for education is deeply Christian and seeks to serve the common good.

Eco-schools programme

Often our children are the most aware of the need to reduce our environmental impact. And across our schools there are many examples of leadership in caring for the Earth.

The Eco-Schools programme is an excellent, pupil-led and free way to get the whole school and wider community involved in environmental projects.

Developing a global understanding and making connections

Environmental issues don’t respect national boundaries.

We live in an interconnected world where everyday lives and local communities can no longer be fully understood without reference to a wider global picture.

The Eco-schools run an international twinning programme across 67 countries so you can exchange experiences with other schools around the world.

Our schools also have access to Christian Aid’s Global Neighbours accreditation scheme. This programme encourages a deeper understanding of global injustice and the Christian response to it.
