The Bishop of Huddersfield, Jonathan Gibbs was announced as the Church of England’s new lead safeguarding bishop in February 2020, taking over from Bishop Peter Hancock, the Bishop of Bath and Wells. In March 2022 it was announced that Bishop Jonathan was to be the next Bishop of Rochester but as planned would continue as the lead safeguarding bishop until the end of March 2023.

Tens of thousands of students and young people who may never have been to church before are to be reached by the Church of England with the message of the Christian faith as part of a £9 million funding programme for mission projects across the country, it was announced today.

This week's service is led by BBC Songs of Praise presenter and former Gogglebox star Rev Kate Bottley, with Christian Aid's Chine McDonald preaching and prayers signed using BSL by Carolyn Denmark. The service is interpreted throughout using BSL by Gill Behenna.
