Proposals affecting the of benefices of Gretton with Rockingham and Cottingham with East Carlton; Stoke Albany with Wilbarston and Ashley with Weston-by-Welland and Sutton Bassett; Corby St Columba; Corby St John the Baptist with the Epiphany; et al.

The draft Scheme provides for the proposed reorganisation of current six benefices into four new ones and associated matters.

Anyone may make representations (formal comments) for or against the draft Scheme.

This consultation has now closed.

As objections were received against the draft Scheme, the matter will be considered at a future meeting of the Commissioners' Mission, Pastoral and Church Property Committee. Further details of that meeting and paperwork may be posted here in due course.

The Commissioners’ Mission, Pastoral and Church Property Committee decided that a hearing be offered. The Hearing will take place on 17 June 2025, and the speakers and the statutory interested parties have been sent details of the venue + timings. The papers for the Hearing may be found above.

Update post hearing - The Commissioners have decided that the proposed scheme should proceed as drafted notwithstanding the representations against it. Our statement of reasons, which will explain the reasons for reaching this decision,  will hopefully be available by the end of July/mid-August, pressures of Synod and other work permitting.

All correspondence received by the Commissioners will be treated as public correspondence.
