Proposals affecting the benefices of Cheddleton, Horton, Longsdon and Rushton Spencer; Biddulph; Bagnall with Endon; and Leek and Meerbrook in the diocese of Lichfield

The draft Scheme provides for the proposed dissolution of benefice of Cheddleton, etc., and the transfer of constituent parishes to other benefices.

This consultation has now closed. 

 

As representations have been received against the draft Scheme, the Commissioners' Mission, Pastoral and Church Property Committee decided that a public hearing should be held on 2nd May 2024. The hearing paperwork has been posted here and a summary of the Committee's decision will be provided on this page in due course and its fuller decision in writing to be sent to all the representors and interested parties. 

The public hearing will be held at 12 noon at The Wade Conference Centre, Hartshill Road, Stoke-on-Trent ST4 7NY on Thursday 2nd May.

The process is that written paperwork already submitted and oral representations received at the Public Hearing will be considered by the Committee members.  There will not be an opportunity for further written submissions to be considered.

All correspondence received by the Commissioners will be treated as public correspondence.
