The Meissen Commission of the Church of England and the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) met for the 33rd meeting from October 12 to 15, 2023, in Loccum, under the leadership of Co-Chairs, the Rt Revd Dr. Jonathan Gibbs (CofE) and Landesbischof Ralf Meister (EKD).

The Meissen Commission of the Church of England (CofE) and the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) met in October 2024 in Rochester.  The focus of this year’s meeting was on “Estates Ministry” and on “Racial Justice.” 

Members of the Meissen Commission, which oversees the relationship between the Church of England and the Evangelische Kirche Deutschland, were present at the recent Kirchentag, held in Hannover from 30 April to 4 May.

The Meissen Theological Conference met for their biennial gathering on 11-14 February in Hamburg, looking at the last 30 years of the Meissen Agreement.

The Twelfth Theological Conference between the Church of England and the Protestant Church in German (EKD) took place at the Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Hotel in Berlin from 12 to 15 February 2024. We are very grateful to the Evangelical Church Berlin Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia (EKBO) for hosting an ecumenical reception.
