Diocese of Birmingham moves to a more sustainable office

Over the Summer of 2022, the Diocese of Birmingham moved office buildings, into a newly fitted modern working space. Featuring heat pumps, a green electricity tariff and facilities to encourage cycling, the move has allowed the collective work of the Diocesan employees to have a reduced carbon output. By choosing a retrofitted Victorian building, additional embodied carbon has also been avoided.

The office move has benefitted the Diocese's working environment too. By moving from a 7th and 8th floor space to one with level access from the street, an emphasis has been put on providing accessibility. This has continued within the working space, which features adjustable desks, as well as video-call pods to facilitate hybrid working.
