Representations to the Pastoral Committee
The Pastoral Committee
considers representations from members of the public and interested
parties in respect of proposed pastoral reorganisation. It also
considers objections from interested parties (only) in connection
with proposed sale of parsonage or glebe property. It also
considers appeals from incumbents under the Repair of Buildings
Measure 1972 and objections under the Ecclesiastical Offices (Terms
of Service) Measure 2009 and its Regulations in relation to clergy
The flowcharts on the right under
'Resources' explain the representation procedure for the various
types of cases.
Our leaflet Your Views
Count explains how we will consider your representation and how
you may be able to put your views to our Pastoral Committee in
person. It also explains the rules operating at Committee meetings
where members of the public may be allowed to speak.
Please note that from 1 January
2016, not all meetings of the Committee will be open to the public.
We will decide whether to hold a public hearing on a case by case
basis, and let representors know closer to the time.
