Representations to the Mission and Pastoral Committee

The Mission and Pastoral Committee considers representations from members of the public and interested parties in respect of proposed pastoral reorganisation. It also considers objections from interested parties (only) in connection with proposed sale of parsonage or glebe property. It also considers appeals from incumbents under the Repair of Buildings Measure 1972 and objections under the Ecclesiastical Offices (Terms of Service) Measure 2009 and its Regulations in relation to clergy housing matters.

The flowcharts on the right under 'Resources' explain the representation procedure for the various types of cases.

Our leaflet Your Views Count explains how we will consider your representation and how you may be able to put your views to our Mission and Pastoral Committee in person. It also explains the rules operating at Committee meetings where members of the public may be allowed to speak.

Please note that from 1 January 2016, not all meetings of the Committee will be open to the public. We will decide whether to hold a public hearing on a case by case basis, and let representors know closer to the time.

The Committee will be meeting on the following dates in 2016:

  • Tuesday, 1 September 2016
  • Wednesday, 5 October 2016
  • Wednesday, 2 November 2016
  • Wednesday, 14 December 2016

These dates are also available to download as a Word Document here.
