The Ministry Experience Scheme in Leicester Diocese has three core elements:
- Missional placement - Placement churches provide a context for ministry, accommodation, and supervision. We have city, town, and rural placements across a range of church traditions.
- Training - We will work with you to find a suitable programme of study or vocational training. Options may include New Wine Discipleship Year, lay ministry training or Diocesan courses.
- Support Network – Our aim is to create a network of support for each participant, including a placement supervisor, mentor, and access to Diocesan Vocations team. During the year we gather MES participants for quiet days, social events, and specialised training (such as unconscious bias & antiracism training and Myers-briggs).
Future Youth: Are you passionate about serving children and young people? Are you exploring a vocation in children’s or youth ministry? In Leicester, we have a several churches who are offering a Future Youth placement. Get in touch to find out more…
The scheme runs from early September to mid-July.
