1 The Father has delivered us from the dominion of darkness, ♦
and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son;
2 In whom we have redemption, ♦
the forgiveness of our sins.
3 He is the image of the invisible God, ♦
the firstborn of all creation.
4 For in him all things were created, ♦
in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible.
5 All things were created through him and for him, ♦
he is before all things and in him all things hold together.
6 He is the head of the body, the Church, ♦
he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead.
7 In him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell; ♦
and through him God was pleased to reconcile all things.
Colossians 1.13–18a, 19, 20a
Glory to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning is now
and shall be for ever. Amen.
