Thank you to all who have given your views on how the Church might best support future cohorts of clergy with retirement housing through churchofengland.org/enablingchoice.

We have now closed the online response form at that site, although you can continue to use this to read more about our ideas, or to ask further questions, while we work through all the feedback.

In the meantime, we would still welcome your help in completing a short survey designed to get a better picture of demand for support with retirement housing in the coming years. For instance, understanding how many colleagues are likely to contact the Pensions Board for support in finding the right retirement home for their circumstances. And where they might be looking to retire to. This will help us with designing new services as well as planning and managing the retirement housing portfolio.

If you have already completed this, then thank you. We really appreciate your help.

If you haven’t completed it yet, then here’s how to take part:

How we can better understand clergy retirement plans

This survey, designed for serving stipendiary clergy in the Church and those in training, invites you to respond on some questions about:

  • Your household and financial circumstances – to help us ensure that future services recognise the diversity of clergy circumstances
  • What steps you might have already taken to secure the retirement you want.
  • If you have a housing plan or not, and what your plan involves.
  • What might be most important to you in finding the right housing option for your retirement.

This survey is entirely optional – but the more colleagues that answer, the better the picture will be. We recognise that some of these questions might feel quite personal. You can complete this survey anonymously, answering as many questions as you feel comfortable with. We won’t ask for your name, and please be assured that we will only use this data to help inform how we develop and tailor services in future.

Please click here to access the survey which is open until 8 February. It should only take 10-15 minutes. If you have any questions about this survey, please email [email protected].

Thank you again for your ongoing support.
