Capel Court is a purpose-built supported housing complex situated in its own attractive and well-maintained grounds in the beautiful Cotswold village of Prestbury, Cheltenham. The scheme has 31 flats. 24 are suitable for single occupancy and 7 for couples. Flats consist of a living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The scheme is all on one level and each flat has its own large patio.

Capel Court has a full-time member of staff responsible for maintenance. They, along with a list of reliable contractors, take care of the maintenance of all of the communal and external areas so there is no need for residents to have to worry about the upkeep of their flats or gardens although some residents do enjoy looking after their own small planting area.

Our aim is to support residents to live independently, within a welcoming and friendly community.

A short bus ride away, Cheltenham is a lively spa town which is well known for its shopping, it’s beautiful park in the grounds of Pittville Pump Rooms and of course the famous racecourse. Cheltenham station is nearby and in addition to the usual train services there is a steam train line nearby that runs to other Cotswold villages, making for an ideal day out. In addition to the town centre attractions there are also many local amenities including local shops, a library which is immediately next door, a pharmacy and a little further away a large national supermarket.

Community

There is a bright and comfortable communal sun lounge where tea and coffee are served every day. We also have a residents’ library which has a regular change of books thanks to the public library which is located right next to Capel Court. There is a laundry which is available to all residents.

Guest rooms are available for residents’ family and friends to come and visit.

Catering

Breakfast, lunch and supper are available to all residents (breakfast and supper are optional). Our catering team change the menu regularly, and by season, so there is always plenty of choice available. Food is freshly prepared on-site every day by our own staff. Lunch and supper are served in the communal dining room giving residents the opportunity to come together and socialise. The local authority has awarded the Capel Court kitchen a 5 star hygiene rating.

The catering team are more than happy to cater for you if you have any allergies or special diets. We have a Catering Committee made up of residents and staff to allow menu ideas to be shared. The feedback given allows the team to keep improving and adapting our food service to suit our residents needs and preferences.

Support

Our aim is for you to live independently for as long as possible with the right support in place. Staff are on-site to provide meals, help with laundry, shopping, prescriptions, flat maintenance and any other support needs that you might have. Our team are available every day to help support residents but if help is needed after they have gone home there is an emergency call centre available to you at the press of a button. This service is available 24 hours a day.

We do not provide personal or nursing care, but care packages can be organised with our help from external agencies. Every flat is fitted with a 24-hour warden call system which can be used to call for assistance from either the staff on site or the call centre when out of hours. Our goal is to ensure that Capel Court is a home for life so we will support you in any way we can.
