Church Buildings Council

We help you keep your church building open, used for worship and enjoyed by all.

We work with and advise churches and dioceses on care, conservation and development of church buildings. We work with government to advise on policies that affect church buildings.

When should you consult us?

We expect to be consulted for:


Your Diocesan Advisory Committee will tell you when to contact us. 


We are also happy to give advice to dioceses about projects where works have a big missional impact (e.g. a resourcing church or other church plant).
 

Our next meetings are on:

  • 23rd January 2020 with a casework submission deadline of 30th December 2019
  • 19th March 2020 with a casework submission deadline of 24th February 2020
  • 14th May 2020 with a casework submission deadline of 20th April 2020
  • 9th July 2020 with a casework submission deadline of 15th June 2020
  • 3rd September 2020 with a casework submission deadline of 10th August 2020
  • 22nd October 2020 with a casework submission deadline of 28th September 2020
  • 3rd December 2020 with a casework submission deadline of 9th November

The latest date that the Council can receive a case for inclusion for these meetings are as follows: 

  • January Meeting -  30th December 2019
  • March Meeting - 24th February 2020
  • May Meeting - 20th April 2020
  • July Meeting -15th June 2020
  • September Meeting -10th August 2020
  • October Meeting - 28th September 2020
  • December Meeting - 9th November

The Council aims to acknowledge receipt of casework promptly provided it is sent to [email protected]chofengland.org or via the Online Faculty System
